The Ottheinrichsbau was built under Ottheinrich , after this 1556 had become Elector. The new palace was one of the first Renaissance buildings on German soil and is an important building of German Mannerism . For the Ottheinrichsbau older buildings were partially covered (glass hall building) or demolished (northern half of the Ludwigsbaues). In the east, the construction rests on the foundations of older buildings and on the outer defensive wall.
